Sustainability from Plant to Package
The Fish-Free Supplement
Sustainability is also baked into every single step of our manufacturing process. That’s why we use Life’s Omega, the only single-sourced and unblended DHA and EHA algae oil. Using proprietary extraction methods, algae is grown in a controlled indoor environment with no added chemicals or toxins. This results in a minimal environmental footprint.
The Packaging
We strive to only use post-consumer recycled content wherever we can. Our packaging uses eco-friendly and recyclable or compostable materials whenever possible.
Our pouches are made from plant-based plastic (derived from sugarcane versus oil). Since they’re made from renewable resources, their production process is carbon negative. This means that the production of these pouches actually removes more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it emits.
Our initial run of pouches generated a negative carbon footprint of 31 kg after taking production and logistics emissions into account.
Calgee has been committed to 1% For The Planet since day one. In 2022, we partnered with Sea Hugger to support their mission to protect and heal the marine environment from plastic pollution.
